Deaf Yoga

Here at Soleil Lune, we believe that yoga should be accessible to everyone.  It is our desire that all our classes be accessible to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.  In fall of 2012, DeafYoga Foundation's Lila Lolling certified our instructors in Visual Yoga. Our Deaf or Hard of Hearing students can come to any class at any time as well as attend a class that is specifically visually oriented.

The Deaf Yoga Classes teach its students in ASL with visual cues suited for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Our other classes are taught in English and are not necessarily visually oriented. Our class schedule indicates Kate & Trish have completed their Visual Yoga Certification and can accommodate the Deaf or Hard of Hearing student's viusal needs. All of our classes offer hands-on assists and modifications to suit each individual's personal needs.  Deaf and Hard of Hearing students are welcome in all of our classes and will find Kate & Trish's classes can accommodate their needs.

Deaf Yoga Classes

In the past, our Deaf Yoga was for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Deaf Yoga Classes were taught by a yoga teacher who is also a professional interpreter, this class offered its students a basic and deeper understanding of body alignment, breath work and yogic philosophy. The goal of this class was to provide its students with a working knowledge of yoga so that the Deaf or Hard of Hearing student can attend any class at the studio at any time. While some of our instructors (indicated on our schedule) are able to accommodate the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community within their classes, the Deaf Yoga Class is specifically visually oriented with ASL. Other classes at our studio are taught in English and are not necessarily visually oriented. All of our classes offer modifications to suit each individual's personal needs.

If this is something you are interested in attending, please email us at info@soleilluneyoga.com and we will be happy to put this back on the schedule!
